UK outsourcing providers and contracts to be rated on ‘social value’

Companies bidding for public contracts will be graded on their “social value”, the UK government has announced, in the latest squeeze on the outsourcing industry.

The collapse of Carillion, one of Britain’s biggest outsourcers, and frustration over the performance of other providers has led to political pressure for an overhaul of public procurement.
